Our interactive Promotora Program provides peer education programs for chronic health and mental health issues in the latino community. They are identified leaders in the community. They have implemented community-based health promotion projects focused on mental health, nutrition, peer-network support building, family health, and community education. The Promotoras serve as liaisons between our community, health professionals, human and social service organizations. As liaisons, they often play the roles of advocate, educator, mentor, community health outreach worker, role model, and interpreter in the latino community.
