As the first point of contact with the FRCoT, the reception volunteer plays a crucial role. Help individuals and families learn about and connect to resources, both at the FRCoT and in the community. Bilingual volunteers preferred. Time commitment: At least 2 hours per week, ongoing.

Board of Directors:
We are looking for motivated board members who are action-oriented and share experience in fundraising, marketing, event planning and/or community engagement.

Family Room:
The Family Room operates five days a week at Truckee Elementary. It is a space for children under 3 years old and their caregivers to experience a literacy-focused classroom experience where they connect with other families. Volunteers with a background or strong interest in early childhood education can assist in planning activities, cleaning and facilitating the class. Time commitment: At least 3 hours per week, ongoing.

Fundraising and Community Events:
From planning, coordination and outreach, to set-up and clean-up, we can always use help with events. Our signature event, Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), takes place in November and we begin planning months in advance. Please contact Elvia Esparza for more information –

Help us let our community know what we do by lending your marketing skills, artistic vision or just a willingness to post flyers. There are many opportunities to help us spread the word about how our work helps families to thrive. Please contact Teresa Crimmens for more information – teresa@
